Beer bread

This was really fast to make and really delicious.  It also got rid of one of those dumb beers sitting in my fridge -- the Negro Modelo.  I am saving the Corona Light for Emily because she is the one who is responsible for polluting my fridge with it.

Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 Tb sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
12 oz beer (it says not to use stout)

Preheat the oven to 400.

Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.  Pour in the beer and fold with a spoon or spatula until all of the dry stuff is incorporated into the dough.  Put the dough into a loaf pan and bake for about 35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

  3. Yes, specifically. I had seen a recipe on foodgawker and had never heard of it so I wondered how it actually tasted. There are about 60 recipes for it on the site.
