Traditional Mashed Potatoes

1.5 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
1/2 tsp salt
4 Tbsp cream
2 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp milk or more (if more liquid is needed than cream and butter)
Salt and pepper

Salt water. Boil potatoes until easily pierced with a fork, about 15 to 20 minutes.

Melt the butter and warm the cream on stove top or microwave.

When the potatoes are cooked, place in a bowl and add butter and cream. Mash with a masher. If you want a smoother, consistency stir with a wooden spoon but don't overbeat or they'll be gluey. Salt and pepper.
